At a young age I had a passion for crystals and creating. Later, I combined my two loves to what was originally known as “Rocks and Crystals” after my mom’s nickname “Rocky” and my own. I was always too shy to take custom orders, so my mom, who motivates me and inspires me, would take the orders from her friends and I would make their vision come to life. My mom would take me to different craft stores, and I could spend all day getting lost in all the strands of pearls, quartz, and agate.
Life got busier and I had to put my crafting aside to concentrate on college, work and eventually planning my wedding. I was able to dabble in crafting again while planning our wedding because I wanted to make something special for my wedding party. Soon after I took another break as we welcomed our honeymoon baby. It wasn’t until our youngest child started preschool that I started creating again and since then the fire of inspiration has burned strong.
The pandemic inspired me to start my Instagram page @DeeDa.Does which is named after my childhood nickname. One year after launching my shop I participated in my very first pop-up in my hometown with my mom and my dearest friend RaeAnn by my side. Through this journey I befriended so many crystal shops, crystal enthusiasts, and some that have become my chosen family. I’m thankful for this business as it helped me survive the pandemic.
